After the very good success and appreciation by players of the new Acustica model guitar (now renamed AcoustiVibe) and after we had a request and inquiry for a bass version of the instrument, I took some time this summer to put together ideas, and to engineer and build this fresh new model we now call VibraBass.
It is a model born from the great experience of almost two decades of building the Acoustibass model, but with some fresh new developments and a more classic look.
The body is light Korina, fully chambered and topped with figured Italian poplar burl. The bass is built with our recipe of a thin resin fretboard over a maple neck with hard beech laminate core. The pickups include a magnetic element placed in the round center plate at the neck position and a custom designed high-output piezo in our latest release of the Manne Piezo Bridge with updated and improved components and design, which together now make it truly state-of-the-art.
Bass players have recently told us this is a great performer with its acoustic voice that can be fulfilled by blending in the magnetic pick-up using a simple but elegant pan knob/pot. We are now thinking about making it available also as a standup bass.
