Domenico Santaniello

Domenico is a new bass endorser for Manne.

A teacher at Avellino Conservatory and at Thelonious Monk, one of the most renowned jazz schools in northern Italy, he is also a busy Jazz-pop session player touring Italy.

Domenico is constantly striving for the best possible instrument tone. He felt that he had a reasonably good tone already at his fingertips, but after various experiences with other major instrument brands, he had felt the tone of his instruments were sometimes too artificial or too much influenced by built up electronics.

After an in-depth trial of the full range of Manne basses, he settled on a bass that he felt was more interesting for his needs and provided him a good interface to express his playing. The bass was the new Manne Kayenta constructed with a black korina body and Italian poplar top.

“This bass at first sight delighted me with its beautiful design, wood selection and perfect construction. Acoustically, even before amping it, I felt at home with it. When you wear this bass, it gives you a good sensation, very light with a very ergonomic body shape. It is really well balanced and very easy to play. With all the controls at flat, you get a clean and defined sound with tight super low basses and rich harmonics that provide an impressive presence.

It really sounds good!”
