I encoutered online a very interesting product. BGDT
“Design your own bass guitar in 60 minutes or less”. The software is very interesting and useful. This is what I consider taking advantage of technology and “Computer Aid” for few bucks. Great work and great idea.
So I wondered: “was I that slow?” It took me years to develop and refine my own recipes and convictions, to balance ingredients, know components and features to get it done right. Now a program can give you anything in a twinkling?
Then I encountered in a friend’s post on Facebook the following:
One evening, a friend of mine, being a guest for dinner and passionate on photography, showed some of his pics he had with him. It was told to him by the housewife: “Very nice! You must have a very good camera!” At the time to leave, my friend told to the housewife: “Very good dinner. You must have very good pots!” (Simon Evans)
I feel these two things are linked in some way.
Often I get confirmation from my customers that my work is something very near to what a Chef does (is an art form). So, you can buy books on cuisine and that will grow your understanding of food.
You can buy good pots and knives or a good camera. But taking a good picture, like cooking sublime food, like making a musical instrument, these things are still art.
I feel that my work at Manne mixes my knowledge, creativity and ideas, sensations and skills to stretch the envelope, to develop new ways “to do it”. It’s all about mastering the elements.
Like playing with inspiration……
