“Ciao Andrea,
A digest of one Manne month! (a brand new Taos carved-top ): I am doing some videos I will post in future …
I am having also friends testing the Taos and it is gathering much success. Really, it is a fabulous guitar. Tonewise it has a great harmonic complexity that makes it so much different from other classics (Gibs and Fends), but not for this being anonymous (as I have heard about Manne sometimes and to PRS). Oppositely, the fact of this harmonic complexity pushes the player to play in new ways with new ideas. And this is really amazing.
Embracing it you are not tempted to imitate and re-create something already heard. But it pushes me, and other people that have tested it, to experiment. To me, this is a great plus in a era that is extremely devoid of new ideas.
Then it is also versatile, ranging from almost angry sounds to others very “acoustic”.
The solution of the splittable (series- parallel) minihumbuckers is interesting also if not so easy to comprehend and use, especially for the volume changes that must be mastered with controls or foot pedals. But for someone used to “controlling” the guitar output, this solution widens the sonic capabilities. I even will use it in my “acoustic combo” just because its versatility will cover my needs.
Ciao! Giuseppe Leotta
